Michaela Clarke is the Project Manager for Local Partnerships for the Square One Project, providing research, outreach and coordination support to Square One’s local site work.
Prior to joining the Square One team, she worked as a Justice Fellow at the Equal Justice Initiative on the Community Remembrance Project team, where she conducted research on the history of racial injustice and managed projects for local communities who were reckoning with their local histories and memorializing victims of racial terror lynching in order to address the narrative of white supremacy and the myth of racial inferiority that has shaped the United States. In addition to the community work, she also created narrative content for the new Legacy Museum Art Gallery to highlight the role of art when imagining a future free from racial injustice.
Michaela holds a B.A. in African and Black Diaspora Studies and Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies from DePaul University in Chicago.
