Justice Lab Summer Fellows Program

The Justice Lab will welcome 5-10 undergraduate fellows from Columbia University, Barnard College and Teachers College to participate in its Summer 2024 Fellowship Program. Each summer fellow will work on one of the Justice Lab’s four projects, and participate in additional professional development and learning activities created specifically for the fellow cohort. The fellows will also have opportunities to learn from various members of the Lab, both individually and as a cohort. Applicants must be working toward an undergraduate degree to be eligible.

The program will run from May 22, 2024-July 30, 2024 for 30+ hours per week, and will require students to be on campus, with hybrid schedules possible based on Justice Lab project needs.

There are three ways to apply. Once selected, the Justice Lab does not distinguish between Fellows based on how they apply.

Ways to apply:

1.  The Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowship's Laidlaw Scholars Program (apply directly through this site). Deadline to apply is March 5, 2024.

2.  The Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowship's Summer Research Fellowships (apply directly through this site). Deadline to apply is March 5, 2024.

3. Directly to the Justice Lab via Handshake. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2024.

Those selected will be assigned to projects during the interview and selection process based on alignment of skills and interests. Projects seeking summer interns are: Square One Project, Emerging Adult Justice, and the Lab’s research-specific work.
