Elizabeth Powers

 

Beth Powers is the Associate Director of Place-Based Advising & Assessment on the Youth Justice Initiatives team. In this role, Beth leads and manages engagements with sites working to end the youth prison model and create a community-centered approach to support youth and help them thrive; develops protocols and approaches to support sites in various stages of transformation; and deploys research and strategic communications to support transformative efforts. Prior to joining the Lab, Beth directed state campaigns for the Innocence Project, leading legislative campaigns across the country to prevent and reveal wrongful convictions and compensate those who have been wrongfully convicted. Earlier, Beth also served as the Director of Youth Justice at the Children's Defense Fund - New York, leading policy reform efforts, including co-leading the Raise the Age - New York campaign. Beth holds a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University.
