Durrell Washington is a Staff Associate with the Justice Lab. Durrell is part of the Youth Justice initiative Project.
Before coming to the Justice Lab, Durrell was a Research Fellow in Columbia University’s SAFELab. The SAFELAB is a research initiative that focusing on the ways in which youth of color navigate violence on and off-line. Durrell was also a 2018 Beyond the Bars Fellow. The Beyond the Bars Fellowship offers students and community members an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of mass incarceration and social change; and to collaborate with social justice organizers, activists, and academics to plan the annual Beyond the Bars Conference.
Durrell Completed his Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University with a concentration in Policy and contemporary social issues. Durrell also holds a Bachelors of Science in Social Work with a minor in Sociology from York College of the City University of New York
